Opportunity
We are looking for a Director of Sales who will be responsible for business generation as it relates to prospecting and securing group business on behalf of Scottsdale in accordance with the goals and strategies outlined in the annual Marketing Plan and in conjunction with the Worldwide Sales Office’s efforts. As a Sales Leader, you will be responsible for working and collaborating with a team that includes Sales Managers, Revenue Management, Reservations, Catering and Conference Services, and Public Relations. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment and discretion in decision making. This person will have strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills, is able to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation, and can evidence having a solid work ethic, good business acumen, and a passion for service.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Responsible for the management of all sales administration employees and assists the Director of Marketing in the leadership of the sales and marketing team. In the Director of Marketing’s absence, assume delegated authority over the sales and marketing team.
- Assist the Director of Marketing in achieving business growth and profitability objectives, integration with the hospitality operations departments and development of budgets and business plans.
- Ensure that all functional areas of the sales administration department and customer service levels are consistent with Four Seasons standards and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and as prescribed by the Director of Finance.
- Responsible for all aspects of systems, administration, database, and facilities of on-site sales activities including procedures and processes specific to the daily operation of the sales team.
- Responsible for overseeing the contract document, escrow, loan servicing, and reporting processes for new sales, buybacks, repurchases, and re-sales.
- Direct all aspects of the sales administration department including the supervision of the Reports Manager and Administrative Assistant. Develop staff through regular performance reviews, career development planning, recruitment, and retention.
- Ensure smooth flow, accuracy, and completeness of all documentation necessary to the sales administration department functions, i.e. Front Desk documents, escrow and loan processing, and closings of all sales in accordance with regulatory requirements and procedures prescribed by the Director of Finance.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and achievement of the annual budget and assist in management of business practices as responsibly as possible to achieve the performance goals.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the sales operations, including training of sales personnel, as it pertains to the sales presentation, discovery and lead management processes, sales probability reporting, and client/owner profile reporting.
- Monitor and review all aspects of the sales process through lead management, tour recaps, sales probability reporting, and each sales associate’s database management.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, motivation, and coaching of all employees, including commissioned sales staff, in order to maximize individual performance and productivity.
- Ensure policies, procedures, reporting, and system records in place to maintain owner and lead databases.
- Responsible for ensuring that all money deposited into escrow and reports are prepared according to the guidelines prescribed by the Director of Finance.
- Ensure that pricing information and project inventory is being accurately maintained and acts as a liaison with legal counsel for all project registrations. Provides monthly inventory updates to Project Director and Director of Finance.
- Assist with leadership and direction of all staff to ensure Four Seasons project standards, policies, and procedures are in place and adhered to on a consistent basis.
- Develop and maintain working policies and procedure manuals for the Sales and Sales Administration departments.
- Ensure procedures are in place and measured to deliver a guest experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
- Acts as signing agent on worksheets and contract documents.
- Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
- Director of Sales will have a working group sales market.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
- A Hospitality Management Degree qualification is preferred; however, it is not essential with relevant experience.
- Luxury hotel Sales preferred (minimum of 3 years) or 3 – 5 years operational hotel experience.
- Previous experience as a DOS or Sales Manager in a Hotel or Resort.
- Proven sales track records a plus.
- Proven leadership within the luxury hotel market.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and be willing to accept assignments on an as-needed basis, to promote teamwork. This may include some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Business travel required.
- Good command of the English language with excellent communication skills.
