Job Summary
This individual is an expert in strategy-related and/or transformation activities and takes on a team leadership role without specific direct reports. In this highly visible role, this individual will support senior leadership by delivering projects related to strategy development, planning, and implementation to help drive growth, improve the affordability of our products and services, and transform our operating model enabled by technology. This individual will lead work effort on strategic/planning/implementation projects that support senior leadership and HCSC Board of Directors priorities.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Aligning stakeholders on objectives and deliverables from projects and developing workplans to accomplish them.
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis and synthesizing information, generating insights and strategic implications (internal, market, competitor, etc.).
- Framing strategic options and developing recommendations on the path forward, grounded in strategic analysis.
- Collaborating in identifying initiatives, developing roadmaps, and creating and refining business cases.
- Monitoring implementation, assessing progress, and flagging for leadership where help is needed.
- Developing and coordinating presentations, communications, planning materials, and other strategy-related documents that are both internally- (e.g., HCSC Board and leadership materials) and externally-impacting (e.g., rating agency briefing book/presentations).
This individual will also:
- Mentor junior team members who are not direct reports, teaching them how to work efficiently and effectively and aligned with our core values.
- Maintain and grow a set of cross-functional relationships, particularly at the senior leadership levels, to achieve goals and desired outcomes.
- Work with leadership to ensure alignment among corporate, line of business/plan, and functional strategies.
- Act as a thought partner in strategic discussions, even outside of own projects.
Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree / Master's Degree / MBA and 10 years of general industry experience or 5 years consulting experience at a top tier consulting firm.
- 1 year of management experience.
- Strategy Development/Planning/Implementation: Knowledge of corporate strategy and/or transformation core skill sets; experience formulating, planning, and implementing strategy and/or transformative efforts.
- Analysis/Synthesis/Insight Generation: Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, provide insights and implications, inform decision making, and make recommendations/prioritize new opportunities to pursue.
- Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Ability to proactively identify and resolve complex problems with minimal oversight.
- Project Management: Experience managing complex projects with minimal oversight.
- Collaboration and Interpersonal Effectiveness: Ability to build strong connections with people and teams, drive results by working across the matrixed environment, and work directly with senior leadership.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels, including senior executives; robust verbal, written and visual communications skills.
- Team Development: Experience proactively mentoring junior team members.
- Ability to work within a very fast-paced, quickly evolving organization and manage multiple, complex priorities.
Potential for travel 10-15%
Please note this is a HYBRID - FLEX role which requires a minimum of 3 days of in-office hours per week at the respective office location.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, MD, JD, or PhD.
- Experience in the healthcare industry, especially the health insurance sector with an emphasis on payers.

Base Pay Range: $127,600.00 - $236,900.00
