POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Regional Director of Fitness, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and managing fitness programs across personal training, team training, and group exercise platforms for a region of 20-25 clubs. This role creates and delivers fitness programs that are aligned with our member’s needs, contribute to member engagement, retention, and revenue growth. As a fitness subject matter expert, you will provide strategic planning as well as work side by side with FM’s and personal trainers in the clubs to identify gaps and develop talent. Partner closely with club leaders to proactively recruit and retain high performing fitness talent. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the COO and partnering closely with District Managers and General Managers to ensure the clubs are delivering successful fitness programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fitness Programming and Education
- Assess the effectiveness of existing fitness programs and services related to demand, member satisfaction, retention, and revenue.
- Design and execute innovative fitness programs, personal training, group and team training services, and align pricing to offerings.
- Monitor ROI on fitness offerings and design programs and pricing to drive revenue and retention.
- Ensure consistency and quality of fitness services delivered across all clubs, maintaining high standards for member safety, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on cutting edge fitness service trends, competitive service offerings, and education and development of fitness knowledge.
- Provide ongoing fitness-specific continuing education to Fitness Managers, Personal Trainers, and Team Instructors.
- Provide insight to ensure our fitness service offerings are competitive and driving high member engagement.
- Establish required certification requirements.
Fitness Delivery, Execution, and Reporting
- Evaluate existing internal processes and technology for capturing accurate sessions services and member usage.
- Create consistent processes and SOP’s detailing the administrative steps and standards for entering and tracking sales, scheduling, sessions serviced. Create internal controls to minimize risk.
- Partner with General Managers to establish clear expectations and goals for personal trainers.
- Partner with Marketing to create branded fitness materials. Ensure accurate signage for current fitness service options is posted in all clubs.
- Design competitive pricing and promotions.
- Create contracts and terms for services, including cancellation standards.
Staff Retention & Development
- Partner with Human Resources and District Managers to design new hire processes and training.
- Mentor and develop Fitness Managers and Personal Trainers across the region to ensure they deliver exceptional fitness experiences and achieve their goals.
- Create, communicate, and monitor KPIs to measure individual performance.
- Partner with General Managers to set clear expectations and goals for personal trainers.
- Partner with Human Resources and District Managers to establish competitive compensation plans.
- Work closely with fitness teams in clubs to shadow, coach, and develop.
- Develop and coach processes around client acquisition specific to fitness, clear collection practices and processes.
- Partner with District Managers and General Managers to design ideal staff scheduling and labor budgets.
- Partner with the Regional Director to analyze Fitness Manager performance, offering constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their goals.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Support District Managers in responding to member concerns or issues related to fitness services.
- Participate in regional and national meetings, contributing to the development of company-wide fitness strategies and sharing best practices.
- Create and execute communication strategies to successfully launch and promote fitness service offerings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Fitness certification and education providers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Min. of 4 years of experience in fitness program management and design.
- Proven success developing and managing high performing fitness teams.
- Experience designing and measuring ROI of fitness revenue generating services and programs.
- Proven track record of developing and leading successful fitness programs and teams.
- Strong understanding of fitness trends, member engagement strategies, and program development.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience leveraging P&L data to make business decisions.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel frequently within the regional club locations.
- Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), preferred.
- Ideal candidate will live within the region they are assigned to.
