Aon is looking for a Senior Director of Catastrophe Management Analytics!
This is a hybrid working out of our Chicago office only!
As part of the Catastrophe Management team, you will play an integral role providing analytics support on risk assessment and risk Management consulting for Aon Reinsurance Solutions clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage client projects from start to finish, including leading project teams of multiple analysts while acting as liaison to broking team and other collaborators.
- Prepare property insurance policy data for catastrophe risk analysis using SQL and other data conversion tools, and run catastrophe modeling software for client and prospect portfolio analyses.
- Design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs using Aon's proprietary software.
- Respond to brokers, clients, and reinsurers on issues and questions relating to risk analysis for natural and human-made catastrophes.
- Provide real-time loss estimates of actual catastrophic events around the world.
- Prepare and send catastrophe risk assessment data to reinsurers and participate in reinsurance market calls.
- Assist clients in the understanding of catastrophe risks, sensitivity studies, and added analytics based on catastrophe model results.
- Find opportunities for operational improvement and efficiency and use technical skills to implement and share across our team.
Skills/Competencies Required:
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, with advanced proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint.
- Practical experience with data analysis/clean up/validation and proven analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate well with others externally and internally. Well-rounded communication skills and prior experience communicating with clients and senior collaborators.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple assignments and work well to meet goals.
- Ability to think strategically as well as work independently and take initiative.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience managing projects and leading (or managing) others.
- Understanding of programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, VBA, SAS, C++.
- Data Visualization experience (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Industry designation such as ARe, ARM, CPCU, CCRA, CCM/CEEM, etc.
Required Years of Experience:
10+ years of catastrophe modeling experience in all major model vendors (including AIR and RMS), with in-depth knowledge of the underlying model methodologies and assumptions.
Required Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Math, Statistics, Computer Science or other similarly quantitative or analytically-oriented major preferred (or equivalent experience).

Pay Transparency Laws
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $136,000 - $175,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
