Position and Salary
The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for two permanent full-time Fiscal Analyst 4 positions in the Financial Services Division. These positions are located in Tumwater, Washington, and are not union-represented.
Salary range: $58,380 - $78,468
The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The following stipends may apply based on position requirements:
- Incumbents assigned to our Seattle office location receive an additional 5% King County Location Pay stipend.
- Incumbents assigned to a position designated as requiring dual language skills will receive a 5% Dual Language Requirement Pay stipend.
About the Financial Services Division:
The Financial Services Division (FIS) provides support and accountability for agency financial and budgetary decisions and practices. Our primary goal is to protect and enhance the financial health and resources of the Office of the Attorney General including providing efficient, centrally located accounting, budgeting, payroll, contracts, and grant services and management. We conduct the business of the Financial Services Division in a professional and cooperative manner which recognizes the contribution of each team member. FIS ensures that the reporting and transmission of agency financial information is complete, accurate, and timely.
Duties and Essential Functions of a Fiscal Analyst 4:
Positions serve as a Principal Assistant to the Payroll Manager (FA5) and Compliance Manager (Management Analyst 5) and are part of a team responsible for processing a variety of payroll transactions required for approximately 1750 agency employees.
Independently performs financial review and analysis of fiscal data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, governmental auditing standards, and state regulations.
Positions are assigned to assist with agency-wide financial processing and reconciliation. Supervision includes assigning duties, distributing and coordinating workloads and assignments for professional level staff. This includes development of Performance Development Plans (ePDP’s), Interim Reviews, Year-end 360 Degree Feedback, updates to Position Description Forms (PDF’s), schedule changes and adjustments, and other employee-related concerns in conjunction with Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Positions typically require a Bachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and three to four years of relevant professional experience.
Additional professional experience may substitute year-for-year for education, but not for the credit hours.
A Master’s degree in a financial-related field, certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant can be substituted for the professional experience.
