Position Summary:
The position provides an opportunity to advance your tax career without the traditional busy season(s) of time compression and compliance deadlines. The position is focused on growth of Professional Services+ Tax Services through collaborating with Professional Services+ Collaborative and building of unique tax communities between RSM and PS+ Collaborative firms in the US and Canada. Duties and responsibilities are focused on Capabilities (helping our clients serve their clients), Community (building relationships and networks), and Collaboration (meeting needs for clients) as outlined below:

Capabilities:
- Manage publication of tax intellectual property from RSM to PS+ Collaborative portals for the US and Canada. Includes weekly US Tax Talk, Canada Tax Digest, Tax Policies, Tax Go To Market, Tax Practice Aids and Service Models.
- Build relationships with subject matter experts in RSM to gain understanding of tax issues, trends, and hot topics relevant to PS+ Collaborative firms and their clients. Includes regular communication, staying up to date on RSM priorities by Tax Service Line and Capabilities.
- Management of an RSM enterprise team of advisory tax personnel to generate and review communications by leveraging existing content to PS+ Collaborative. Includes goal setting, feedback solicitation and reporting to tax leadership of success stories and barriers. May include virtual demonstrations of tools and resources available on Portals.
- Review periodic communications of newsletters and emails which leverage content from RSM. Bring awareness of technical topics from internal RSM resource discussions or discussions with PS+ Collaborative firms.
- Understand and apply risk management related to organization and papering engagements, documentation requirements, assist in communication, billing and closing engagements through CLEAR, Work Desktop, Workday.
- Manage lists of relationships with subject matter experts / contacts in PS+ Collaborative firms aligned to the same advisory tax areas as noted above from RSM. Refine and expand groups based on trends, service capabilities and client demand.
- Facilitate conversations between RSM and client contacts related to gaps in service capabilities. Discussions may involve practice management topics related to hiring, training, pricing, operations and technology.
- Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
Collaboration:
- Design programs that tie together Capabilities and Collaboration around tax issues, trends and hot topics, manage logistics for events with PS+ Practice Community Team, coordinate materials collection from subject matter experts.
- Provide project management direction for execution of in-person and virtual Workshops for PS+ Collaborative firms utilizing content on US and Canada portals and tools utilized by RSM advisory tax areas. Focus is on the application of Capabilities that drive Collaboration through service gaps and input from RSM.
- Provide management, coordination and facilitate with an RSM enterprise team of advisory tax personnel to build a pipeline of clients that could benefit from such services. Facilitation includes 1:1 in-person and virtual meetings on a regular basis with RSM tax personnel and client contacts in the US and Canada.
- Follow-up communication and action item development from individual and group events, execution of pipeline development, coordination with resources and accountability reporting to client leadership and RSM tax leadership.
- Coordination and documentation aligned to the PS+ Practice Collaboration Team with emphasis on execution of collaboration plans through online tools of OneNote, SharePoint and SmartSheet.
- Provide management, coordination and facilitation of technical consultation requests from clients to subject matter experts for US, Canada and International RSM offices.
- Other duties as assigned. Ability to travel about 30%.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting or related field of study
- CPA, EA, LLM or licensed JD
- 10+ years of experience in a public accounting environment
- Experience preparing and reviewing of tax returns
- Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm
- Strong tax technical skills
- Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance, including risk management
- Experience with international, state and local, or other specialty tax matters
- Ability to work closely with other tax professionals to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements as defined by the firm
- Ability to develop presentations and communications to leadership
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead projects or initiatives that support enterprise strategy
- Ability to manage both direct and indirect reporting relationships
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills a must
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters of Tax or Accounting
- Industry specialization in professional services environment

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $156,200 - $186,375
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
