OVERVIEW:
Our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Team is on a journey to build capabilities and to reshape our portfolio for growth in service to enterprise strategic objectives. We will pursue all transaction types including acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, joint ventures and equity investments to accelerate our growth goals. Our work will facilitate capital deployment decisions and drive post-close value creation for shareholders.
This role will be part of the M&A team that reports into the Finance organization and works closely with business leaders and cross-functional partners (HR, IT, legal, etc.) to develop financial models and analyze data. The Senior Financial Analyst will participate in many components of the due diligence process and interact with senior-level executives and advisors. Strong performance in this role can lead to in role or organizational advancement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage with M&A and Corporate Strategy leaders to identify, evaluate and develop M&A portfolio shaping initiatives.
- Perform industry and financial analysis leading to investment recommendations.
- Oversee operating financial models to evaluate a target's financial projections and review comprehensive financial valuations involving discounted cash flow, internal rate of return, accretion/dilution and comparable company/transaction analyses.
- Partner with business unit leaders and cross-functional partners to identify and assess risks and opportunities of proposed transactions including operational, financial, and integration synergies/issues.
- Support overall project management of M&A transactions, including facilitation of cross-functional teams for purposes of due diligence, valuation, negotiations and internal approval.
- Assist with the development and presentation of materials supporting M&A strategy to senior leadership and other internal stakeholders.
- Participate in legal negotiations regarding transaction-related contracts with in-house and external counsel.
- Plan and participate in post-closing integration/dis-integration efforts between General Mills and the acquired/divested businesses.
- Monitor industry M&A developments and assess implications for General Mills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related fields.
- 2-3 years minimum experience in corporate development, investment banking, venture capital or private equity.
- Demonstrated analytical proficiency and corporate finance skills.
- Strong modeling, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to use own judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Microsoft Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in consumer foods industry.
- Experience working across geographies and with a deal landscape in multiple markets.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- This role is Minneapolis based and is not remote eligible.
- International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
SALARY RANGE:
The salary range for this position is $91,900.00 - $138,000.00 / Annually.
