GENERAL MANAGER
The General Manager acts as the primary owner of the Retail Stores Operational Plan. You are responsible for ensuring performance objectives are met and achieve business results. You will collaborate with the VP of Stores to develop and implement strategies for achieving the store’s financial goals. You will partner with all other functional heads to achieve company objectives. The Floor Manager will report directly to you and will assist in managing all the operations of the store, in addition to their sales responsibilities.
A key focus of your role will be to create a positive work environment and foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among associates. You will communicate effectively with the team and set clear expectations and recognize and reward associates for their contributions.
The General Manager is accountable for attracting and hiring talented store associates. You will guide store associates through their training requirements and provide long-term coaching for their professional development. In your role, you will evaluate performance and deliver timely reviews, in addition to maintaining a succession plan. Day-to-day duties will include scheduling team members, guaranteeing guests the Robbins Brothers experience, adhering to the visual guide, managing the budget, and always ensuring merchandise security. The General Manager demonstrates adherence to all Robbins Brothers policies and procedures while modeling its values.
Sales Management
- Guides employees in all aspects of the business, as required for the role and in coordination with the Floor Manager.
- Creates a positive work environment and fosters a culture of teamwork and collaboration among associates.
- Communicates effectively with team and sets clear sales performance expectations.
- Designs and assigns sales floor coverage to increase opportunities.
- Maximizes all sales opportunities by working through sales associates to direct guests flow through the store.
- Utilizes positive coaching and advises sales associates to deliver enhanced guests’ in-store experience.
- Maximizes average sale with each guest.
- Demonstrates the capability to increase close percentage to achieve the organization’s sales opportunities.
- Develops the sales culture through visible data, recognition, and accountability.
- Masters the utilization of the Salesforce system and coaches sales associates in the appropriate use of the Salesforce tools.
- Adheres to Salesforce metric objectives for data collection, tasks, and appointments.
People Development- Demonstrates an elevated level of proficiency attracting and evaluating sales talent.
- Facilitates effective sales associate hiring and retention.
- Ensures sales associates complete the required on-boarding training and company sponsored education program within the time specified.
- Creates a team-oriented environment within the workplace.
- Facilitates skill development of sales associates by providing clear, behaviorally specific performance feedback in a manner that builds confidence and maintains self-esteem.
- Holds employees accountable for sales targets, strategic goals, and personal improvement expectations.
- Constructs a strong and collaborative team culture that fosters sales productivity and works together to find solutions to problems.
- Creates a sense of belonging for associates and establishes best practices that enhance trust between team members.
- Encourages, inspires, mentors, and recognizes team members for performance.
- Delivers effective performance evaluations within the required timeframe.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures for documenting human resource actions, i.e., personnel hiring, training program attendance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary incidents.
- Conducts succession planning at the required intervals by the organization.
Merchandise Management- Completes the required product training in the timeframe specified.
- Exhibits personal initiatives to acquire expert product knowledge and stays up to date on incoming merchandise.
- Demonstrates the ability to train and coach sales associates in all product categories and work effectively with designers.
- Coaches sales associates on maximizing gross margin when exploring product options, utilizing resources to craft the optimal sale.
- Adheres to visual guides for merchandise displays and follows Robbins Brothers best practices.
- Ensures merchandise display best practices are implemented.
- Adheres to and holds sales associates accountable for Robbins Brothers quality control and security standards when handling merchandise.
- Controls inventory shrinkage by adhering to Robbins Brothers security and loss prevention policies and procedures.
Business Acumen- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of budgets, monitors sales and expenses and ensures that the store is operating within financial targets.
- Analyzes financial data and identifies areas of opportunity and risk, develops strategies to address areas of concern.
- Demonstrates drive and achieves results through effective business planning and execution.
