Vice President of Strategy
The VP of Strategy is responsible for developing, partnering, and executing on the strategic goals for Great Lakes Industrial and its subsidiaries. The VP of Strategy will work closely with the executive team, customers, and vendors to better understand the market and provide recommendations on how we can grow both organically and through acquisition. In addition, they will be responsible for helping to develop and execute on our commercial sales and marketing strategies, as well as our M&A and property strategies.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the company’s M&A agenda, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and divestitures.
- Works with VP of Sales and Sales Team to identify and execute on commercial product strategy.
- Supports customers in the development of their own business strategies and creates products and solutions to help solve them.
- Works with the executive team to help identify and create solutions for organizational capabilities.
- Partners with customers and monitors market landscape to identify trends for growth and differentiation.
- Works with CFO and COO to identify and execute on financial and operational strategic plans.

The VP of Strategy is a key executive in our organization. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work across departments, manage projects, and think strategically.
Skills & Abilities:
- 10+ years of experience in a strategic or analytical role in the manufacturing or private equity industry.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Proven track record of success in strategic planning, business development, and commercialization execution.
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills.
- Team player who is assertive, goal-oriented, positive, and self-motivated.
- High level of integrity.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerBI.
Other Requirements:
The VP of Strategy must participate in mandated company emergency procedures such as fire evacuation procedures and active shooter procedures. They will also comply with company building and parking procedures.
