We’re seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Chief Risk Officer.
In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for oversight of the Bank's enterprise-wide risk management program, encompassing vendor, departmental, credit and information security risks. This includes but is not limited to identification of risk, assessing risk levels, confirming the effectiveness of risk controls, and monitoring control effectiveness. You'll serve as the primary liaison between bank management and the Board Risk Management Committee, and will oversee coordination of risk management activities across the organization to ensure compliance with the Board of Directors' risk tolerance directives. Additionally, in this leadership role, you'll be responsible for the Bank’s credit risk management and compliance programs, supervise key risk and compliance officers, and be heavily involved in strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across the organization.

What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, with a concentration in Business or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
- 8 to 10 years' progressively more responsible experience in all aspects of commercial lending, Risk Management, Compliance or Audit.
- Experience in staff management and development.
- Professional certifications, such as Certified Risk Management Professional, CRCM, CPA, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner or JD are also desired, but are not required.
- An understanding of credit, interest-rate, and market risk assessment and management methodologies.
- Understanding of insurance products designed specifically for mitigating exposures in the financial institution industry, such as fidelity bond, directors and officers liability insurance, errors and omissions, general liability and property and casualty and loan insurance products.
- Familiar and comfortable with the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Law degree and member in good standing of the Maine Bar preferred.
