Full Job Description
The Controller is responsible for assisting in the creation of financial and operational analysis for American Roots manufacturing operations. They will assist with the development of budgets and forecasting. They will be responsible for financial analysis and report generation activities as well as auditing the financial needs of the company.
Essential functions:
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
Review all monthly financials and forecasting with the CEO.
Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
Conducts analysis of information affecting factory operational finance programs.
Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Responsible to maintain a lean organization and monitor continuous improvements and cost savings in the controlling function.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Quickbooks.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
5 years or more of related experience required.
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Able to travel as needed.
