General:
This critical role is responsible for leading a team overseeing the execution of over 150 critical SOX, SOC, and other management controls within Receivables and Financial Risk Operations, as well as maintaining a quality assurance program to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of our collections and cash applications processes.
CONTROLS + COMPLIANCE
- Ensure compliance with all applicable operational controls. Demonstrate full and accurate adherence and management of the controls calendar.
- Manage and oversee SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOX Audit control program within the department.
- Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously.
- Establish best practices and standards while conducting operational level audits to improve overall operational efficiencies within the department.
- Maintain all required compliance records and documentation, ensuring records are updated as necessary.
QUALITY ASSURANCE OVERSIGHT
- Oversight of a comprehensive quality assurance program for risk operations, including receivables, debt collection and recovery, and cash application.
- Oversight of regular call monitoring, account audits, and team audits and evaluations to ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with leadership across the organization to share the results of evaluations performed for associates across the departments.
ANALYSIS AND REPORTING
- Generate regular reports on control adherence and execution, quality assurance metrics, highlighting trends, areas of improvement, and key performance indicators.
- Present findings to senior management and collaborate on strategies to address identified issues.
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
- Issue resolution, complex problem solving and analytical work.
- Communications management across broad constituencies - internal associates, management, and senior team if/when applicable and external across various levels of the organization.
- Capacity planning, pipeline management, scheduling and resource management.
- Build operational bench strength by identifying at-risk knowledge/skill areas and developing & executing strategies to mitigate.
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
- Lead a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for core people management functions of Selection/Assessment, People Development, Performance Management, and Building Bench Strength/Succession Planning.
- Monitor and cultivate employee satisfaction and engagement.
- Motivate and inspire the team.
- Ensure systems are in place to measure capacity utilization.

Minimum Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Bachelor's degree and/or minimum of 5 years leadership experience in compliance, quality assurance, risk operations, or related field.
- 4+ years of progressive management experience in complex risk and/or control operations functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend actionable improvements.
- Strong understanding and adherence to healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, such as HIPAA.
- Strong understanding of SOX and SOC control principles.
- Superior critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to recognize and react to discrepancies.
- Exhibits adaptability, flexibility, and ability to work independently in a constantly evolving environment.
- Ability to interpret complex contract language.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment, perform multiple tasks concurrently, and prioritize.
- Advanced MS Excel skills with the ability to work with large data sets and experience with tables, pivot tables, and lookup functionality.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Must successfully pass a background investigation.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
