The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is looking for a Full-Time Night Auditor to join our team! A beautiful Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland's Old Port District.

Summary: The general purpose of the Night Audit position is to reconcile the hotel’s daily receipts from all departments by reviewing all accounting work done by various departments. These departments include the restaurants, Lounge, The Spa, Banquets, and the Front Desk. It is also the purpose of the Night Auditor to function as a Front Desk Agent and handle all guest requests including the checking in and out of guests. Must be flexible in scheduling and able to provide relief to Part Time Auditor with holidays, vacations, sick time and any other schedule requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check the work schedule each week and report for all scheduled shifts on time and in complete uniform and with name tag on.
- Clock into correct department on time clock no more than 5 minutes before shift and punching out directly after shift ends.
- Always act in a professional manner.
- Be always alert and at attention for our guests.
- Post charges to guest rooms.
- Check guests in and out as needed.
- Put in wake-up calls.
- Handle any guest requests as best as possible.
- Assist security in handling any guest complaints/disturbances, i.e., by calling police if necessary.
- Balance Front Desk Restaurant’s, Lounge, Spa, and Banquets daily receipts.
- Compile a daily report of receipts and payments for Accounting Office.
- Balance all department’s credit cards and sends through in a batch and cross references totals.
- Take guest reservations as calls come in through the night.
- Run daily department reports.
- Record all manager meal totals in Excel.
- Assist with parking or retrieving a vehicle in the absence of Night Security.
- Keep the Front Desk side office and back offices clean and computers dust free.
- Assist with filling the front desk copiers and printers and stocking supplies.
- Keep all audit packs neat and organized.
- Practice good computer etiquette and shut all computers down for a rest period.
- Send out emails with the daily revenue vs budget reports to management.
- Go through the extended and main lobby throughout the evening and tidy up, get rid of any trash, dishes, etc. If need to vacuum wait until the morning, pull trash from behind the desk and the back office and give to housekeeping as they come through.
- Pass on a detailed summary of the evening with AM relief in the morning before ending the shift.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises one employee in Night Security. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but not limited to - addressing complaints and resolving problems. Indirectly supervises the work of the Part-time Auditor, and when following his/her work you need to assist with communicating any changes or errors that need to be made.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid drivers license.
Other Skills and Abilities: Requires the ability to comprehend computer and PBX skills. Microsoft Word and Excel. Property Management System = Opera.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
