The Director of Revenue Cycle is a crucial role focused on managing and optimizing all aspects of the revenue cycle process within an organization. This includes overseeing charge capture, coding, billing, and collections, ensuring that all financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. The role requires extensive experience in revenue cycle management and strong leadership skills to manage and support the revenue cycle team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Cycle Oversight: Manage and oversee the entire revenue cycle, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of charge capture, coding, billing, and collections.
- Claims Management: Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims to payers, resolving any issues that arise to minimize delays in payment.
- Strategy Development: Create and implement strategies to enhance revenue cycle performance, improve financial outcomes, and reduce costs.
- Staff Supervision: Lead and support the revenue cycle team, providing necessary guidance, training, and development to ensure high performance.
- Data Analysis: Analyze revenue cycle metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities, using this data to inform decision-making.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure the revenue cycle processes are well integrated with overall business operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about the latest coding and billing regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Vendor and Payer Management: Maintain relationships with external vendors and payers to ensure efficient and effective revenue cycle operations.
Qualifications:
- Certified Coder: A certification such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or equivalent is preferred, demonstrating proficiency in coding practices.
- Experience: Significant experience in managing all phases of the revenue cycle process, from charge capture to collections.
- Leadership: Proven managerial experience, with a track record of successfully leading teams and managing complex processes.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data and metrics, with the capacity to make informed decisions based on this analysis.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, other departments, and external stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in revenue cycle management software and tools, essential for efficient management and optimization of the revenue cycle. Experience with Epic, Acumen and/or NextGen preferred.
