Based in our Chicago office (hybrid), the Director, Analytics & Insights is pivotal in shaping the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the business through robust reporting solutions, advanced analytics and marketplace intelligence. In this role you will balance strategic vision with tactical execution, ensuring that the analytics and reporting ecosystem help inform needs of the business now and into the future. The objective is not only to understand the current market landscape but also to anticipate future shifts and prepare the company to navigate them successfully.
Accountabilities & Impact:
- Reporting and Communication: Ensure recaps, findings and opportunities are communicated effectively to all levels of the organization
- Performance Analysis: Oversee execution of on-going performance analysis and analytics, establishing strong reporting fundamentals, metrics and KPIs
- Market Intelligence: Lead the development of deep market, category, and brand performance to establish singular point of view on performance, competitive landscape, innovation, and potential whitespace opportunities for growth
- Collaboration and Influence: Facilitating collaboration across departments to ensure performance metrics and analysis are integrated into all aspects of business strategy and execution.
- Analytics & Technology Roadmap: Shape the organization’s use of analytical technologies and capabilities in collaboration with commercial leadership team to optimize organizational efficiency while building business acumen for growth
- Data Governance: Maximize use of industry data by continually evaluating use of various datasets across the organization, ensure data is integrated and leveraged appropriately across the business according to industry standards/best practice principles
- Team Development and Leadership: Accountable for the recruitment, development, and performance of the analytics team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
In this role you will own:
- Insights and Analytics Framework: development, implementation, and continuous improvement of methodologies for gathering and analyzing data.
- Strategic Recommendations: responsible for developing team to analyze various datasets, formulate and present strategic recommendations based on business needs
- Market Intelligence & Internal Depletions Database: Ownership of a comprehensive and up-to-date repository of datasets, reporting and analyses
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: responsibility to ensure reporting, data remains accurate and is being leveraged to inform business decisions, timely & accurate communication
Skills & Experiences Needed:
- 10+ years of experience in analyzing/ interpreting data and project management experience
- CPG experience required. Beverage experience preferred
- Strong leadership and influencing skills: ability to direct activities of individual team members towards goals
- Advanced Syndicated Scan & Panel Data Analysis (IRI, Nielsen, Numerator)
- Experience embedding reporting tools and technologies, Power BI, Salesforce, Trax experience a plus.
