Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. To get there, we need to design, build, and validate the self-driving system hardware and integrate it with vehicle platforms in partnership with OEMs. Aurora is looking for a Product Manager to join our Vehicle team to guide development of excellent sensors and sensor pod features. As a product manager, your clear vision, roadmaps, requirements, and cross-functional leadership will paint a detailed picture for our talented engineers and designers. The ideal candidate is passionate about automotive technology and hardware, an engineering partner, and a persuasive storyteller. Success in this role will accelerate our time to market, minimize resource waste, and deliver the most valuable capabilities for our internal and external customers.
In this role, you will
- Define the product vision, roadmap, and requirements for vehicle sensors, prioritizing features that deliver the most value to customers and alignment with business goals
- Develop a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of customers, including internal software teams
- Synthesize customer needs into clear use cases and product requirements
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, suppliers, and other business units to translate product requirements into excellent technical solutions
- Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of the products and projects
- Manage a range of cross-functional stakeholders and leadership while navigating key prioritization and timeline trade-offs
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in self-driving technology and logistics
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience
- Engineering, technical, or business degree
- Domain knowledge in automotive, hardware, or complex safety-relevant systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with audio, microphones, LiDAR, sensor cleaning systems
- Experience with autonomous vehicles or ADAS
- Experience with Class 8 trucking and logistics
The base salary range for this position is $156,000-$234,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
