Kids Above All is seeking a Chief Development Officer to join our KAA Team, located at our Higgins office.
Job Summary: The Chief Development Officer (CDO) will provide leadership, formulate and administer a comprehensive Development program designed to maximize the Agency’s financial resources within the framework of Agency objectives. This person will lead and manage the Development team and work in coordination with Kids Above All’s Finance department to set up and execute revenue growth. The CDO will have a proven history of identifying, personally soliciting and securing major gifts, including in the six- and seven-figure categories. The CDO will be familiar with the operations, management and governance of a nonprofit board and have the skill set to engage and persuade our closest supporters in our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to achieve annual revenue goals of $9.3 million.
- Provide strategic direction for all development activities, aligning fundraising efforts with the agency's mission and priorities.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to establish fundraising targets and strategies.
- Donor Relations and Stewardship:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, government partners, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners.
- Develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship programs to enhance donor engagement and retention.
- Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, securing significant contributions to support agency programs.
- Grant Writing and Management:
- Identify, research, and pursue grant opportunities from government, foundation, and corporate sources.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of grant proposals and reports, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Track and report on grant activity and outcomes.
- Corporate Partnerships:
- Develop and manage corporate partnership programs, securing sponsorships and in-kind donations.
- Create customized engagement opportunities for corporate partners to support agency initiatives.
- Special Events and Campaigns:
- Plan and execute major fundraising events and campaigns, including annual galas, donor appreciation events, and capital campaigns.
- Coordinate event logistics, marketing, and volunteer participation to ensure successful outcomes.
- Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of development professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve department goals.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging professional growth and development.
- Board Engagement:
- Collaborate with the President and CEO to plan board meetings, work with select board committees, build strategy, and execute board development activities, and deepen board members' engagement in our mission.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business management or similar field.
- A minimum of 7-10 years fundraising, marketing, planned giving experience with demonstrated success in Resource Development along with 5 years management and supervisory experience required.
- Excellent people skills, non-profit experience, and ability to work with all levels of staff required.
- Must be collaborative and able to work with Senior Management and Board Members
- Proficiency with Donor Snap and other relevant software required
- Must demonstrate independent and sound decision-making and judgment always maintaining what is in the best interest of Kids Above All
