Apple is looking for engineering professionals with strong technical, communication, and leadership skills to ensure that we drive our Battery new product introductions (NPI) to meet the demanding technical, quality, and schedule requirements for Apple products! Apple’s Battery organization architects, designs, builds, and tests battery modules across all Apple product lines, which require sophisticated and dynamic electrical, firmware, mechanical, and chemical designs. Over the past several years, we have delivered battery innovations in form factor, battery safety and security, gauging and charging schemes, and energy density.
As an Engineering Project Manager within Apple's Product Design organization, you will be responsible for owning the development process from Architecture to Mass Production for our Battery Design, Integration, and Operational teams!
Description
In this role you will:
- Help us drive the daily activities to meet overall program objectives and focus on process within product definition and engineering design cycles.
- Identify multi-functional design dependencies and risks and clearly define and document design trade-offs.
- Drive project architecture and design with System teams and within the Battery team to define and manage the project scope.
- Develop and drive project schedules including management of international suppliers to integrate their work into the project timeline.
- Apply technical depth to facilitate communication and collaboration across engineering functions and operations.
- Drive failure analysis of build/product performance and implement corrective actions in collaboration with the multi-functional team.
- Provide project status/risks across on a regular basis up to executive management.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS + 3 years relevant experience
- Ability to travel internationally
- Technical background in Computer, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Consumer Electronics experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership, data presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and broadly to comprehend, communicate and drive sophisticated design trade-offs.
- Drive and dedication with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Remain flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity and rapid development cycles.
- Extensive experience in driving product or process development in scaling from prototype to final product.
Additional Requirements
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
