ABOUT STANFORD UNIVERSITY AND RESIDENTIAL & DINING ENTERPRISES:

Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), the largest auxiliary organization at Stanford University, supports the academic mission of the University by providing high-quality services to students and other members of the university community. The department has an annual operating budget of over $350M, operates 24/7/365, and oversees a $3B asset portfolio comprising a 7 million sq. ft. physical plant across the campus. In autumn quarter of the 2021-22 academic year, R&DE will return to providing housing for over 13,000 students and dependents, serving meals at 17 dining halls, 12 retail locations, and operating athletic concessions and conference operations. Additionally, R&DE comprises 900 FTE staff in various divisions.

This role is currently designated as hybrid, which means eligibility for one day of telecommuting work. *Hybrid schedules are discretionary and may change throughout the year depending on operational needs.
JOB PURPOSE:
Take projects from original concept through final implementation on contained risk assignments. Work is typically comprised of 50%-time contribution towards project leadership and 50% as a technical contributor.
CORE DUTIES:
- Perform the full range of project management cycle: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing.
- Lead projects requiring functional integration and complete sub-project and/or stand-alone elements.
- Direct development of an action plan, and estimate requirements for resources, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
- Facilitate discussions and negotiations to drive recommendation consensus within scope of responsibility.
- Develop and help execute comprehensive change management strategy and communication plan relative to project scope and stakeholders.
- Manage risks associated with projects and report to upper management.
- Director level; single project budget/scope accountability up to $5M; cumulative budget/scope up to $10M.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience in management of projects of moderate size/complexity with limited performance risk.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Polished written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences.
- Ability to productively engage and influence cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components.
- Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills.
- Depth of knowledge in technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects.
- Preferred technical work experience in engineering, architecture, or construction management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally use a telephone, write by hand, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to maintain a valid non-commercial California Driver's license.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May work in active laboratories or outdoor environments.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures, high voltage electricity, radiation, noise, allergens, and chemicals.
WORK STANDARDS:
- When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.
- Demonstrates the ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients.
The expected pay range for this position is $125K to $140K per annum.
