TEAM OVERVIEW:
The Plasma Products Modeling Group at Applied Materials provides plasma, electromagnetic (EM), feature-level, and related modeling and simulation of semiconductor processing equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform plasma, electromagnetic (EM), and feature-level modeling of plasma chambers to provide better understanding of product behavior during concept & feasibility, design and development of semiconductor processing equipment.
- Develop, modify and test internal plasma, EM, feature-level, and related codes as needed.
- Perform engineering analysis.
- Recommend design modifications to improve Plasma/EM/feature-level behavior to address technical/business needs.
- Apply internal and/or external codes to address plasma/EM/feature-level related problems as needed.
- Present modeling results and recommendations to product development team.
- Provide technical expertise in plasma physics, EM, and feature-level phenomenon as a valuable resource.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Demonstrated experience with plasma physics, EM, and/or feature-level simulations.
- Strong computational skills with preference for the following:
- Proficiency in Fortran, C++, and Python.
- Experience with parallelization (e.g., MPI, GPU).
- Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Comfort with developing/extending custom physics and analysis codes in a team environment.
REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:
- PhD in Electrical/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
- GPA: 3.0 or above.
- 0 – 3 years of relevant experience.

U.S. Salary Range: $138,000.00 - $190,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
