Hacienda CDC, a trusted community development corporation that strengthens individuals and families through affordable housing, holistic services, and advocacy, is searching for a Director of Philanthropy who will champion our organization as they form and sustain connections for the greater good!

Your primary tasks will include creating, planning, and implementing new and alternative fund development strategies and taking the lead in building and growing our fundraising efforts.

They understand the ins and outs of the Portland Metro giving community while having a heart and commitment to our communities. They will exude confidence in their leadership, be comfortable with public speaking, and have experience in grant writing, reporting, and contract administration.

This position's primary responsibilities include:
- Creating and managing our annual individual donor campaign.
- Developing and managing our donor database.
- Developing and securing corporate and other sponsorships for the organization and program events.
- Making direct requests to donors, corporate sponsors, and others to support the organization financially or with in-kind donations.
- Organizing our annual fundraising event that engages individual, corporate/business sponsors, and other supporters.
- Developing and managing the grants calendar and reporting at board meetings on grant submission and status.
- Coordinating prospecting, writing, submission, and reporting on grants with grant writer and all departments.
- Coordinating with executive leadership and board members on fundraising needs and strategies.
- Developing and implementing a marketing and social media strategy in line with the organization's fundraising strategy.
- Managing the Communications & Events Manager, Grants, Contracts and Data Manager, and Grant Writer, including full supervisory duties such as hiring, firing, mentoring, training, disciplining, performance evaluations, and more.
- Supporting the CEO in identifying and developing fundraising relationships with individual, government, and corporate sponsors.
Our ideal candidate must have:
- A minimum of five years' experience in individual and/or corporate fundraising.
- At least two years’ experience in a lead development role.
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication in English.
- Experience using donor software (CRM), Salesforce, and familiarity with the MS Office Suite.
- The ability to build programs and partnerships in new, innovative ways to achieve targeted goals.
- Previous experience with public speaking and group presentations.
- Excellent research, evaluation, writing, and training skills.
- Knowledge of database management, grant reporting, and grant/contract administration.
- Strong emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and sensitivity to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- The ability to travel locally, statewide, and nationally, including the occasional overnight and weekend.
- A genuine interest and enthusiasm for community development, social and economic justice, and working in a team environment.
- A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in grant writing.
- A full understanding of the Pacific NW and/or Portland Metro giving community.
- Strong leadership qualities and supervisory experience.
- An understanding and appreciation of the Latinx community, with a desire to work in a predominately culturally specific Latinx organization.
- The ability to speak, read, and write Spanish.

Hacienda CDC is a Latino-led Community Development Corporation that strengthens families by providing affordable housing, homeownership support, economic advancement and educational opportunities. Hacienda CDC was formed in 1986 to provide necessary housing and supportive services in Cully, a low-income, predominantly Latinx community. PAY: The salary and wage range Hacienda advertises for the position means that the starting pay offered to the candidate will fall within the range posted. We recognize that each candidate brings with them a unique combination of experiences, education, skills, and abilities; therefore, the offer will be tailored to the individual.
A bilingual Spanish premium of up to 3% is available after 90 days upon successful completion of a language assessment. (According to policy, even if language is not required or preferred, a person can get a 1% increase).
