Job Overview: As Director of Estimating, you will spearhead our estimating operations to build a truly “best-in-class” estimating department. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that we win enough profitable work to meet our company goals; while fostering strong trade and client relationships.
What You'll Do:
Be responsible for the preparation of complete and accurate budgets, estimates, bids and GMPs from napkin sketches to full construction documents.
Utilize your expertise in construction methodology and pricing to provide constructability and value engineering recommendations that create value for our clients.
Identify, develop and help close new project opportunities. Work closely with the marketing and business development team to build our project pipeline, prepare proposals and client presentations.
Work closely with the construction operations team to develop project schedules, logistics plans, etc. and ensure the smooth turn-over of projects to the construction team.
Mentor, recruit and hire members of the Estimating team as needed; and manage to create a cohesive and motivated team.
Develop estimating processes and procedures that ensure consistency and scalability. Develop and track departmental KPIs.

Qualifications:
Proven track record in successfully estimating complex construction projects from initiation to completion.
Strong team-building, quantitative, and communication skills.
Exceptional time-management and problem-solving abilities.
In-depth knowledge of construction principles, processes, practices, and pricing.
Proficiency in construction estimating software (ProEst, BuildingConnected, Excel, etc.).
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction estimating.
