Greenskies is an industry leader of commercial and industrial solar and energy storage development in the U.S. with a diverse client base including Fortune 50 companies and investment-grade commercial off-takers, industrial and municipal clients. Greenskies is looking to expand its technical bid team with the addition of a Project Cost Estimator. The Estimator’s role will include but is not limited to the development of solar PV and energy storage project budgets. The Estimator will be part of the Analytics & Design Team (A&D) within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) department. A&D directly supports the Business Development team and plays a critical role in the development of all new systems proposals. The Estimator reports to the A&D Manager. Greenskies is seeking an individual highly interested in the renewable energy industry.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Develop EPC cost estimates for renewable energy projects, including solar PV and energy storage technologies, while balancing quality and competitiveness
- Communicate with vendors and contractors to maintain current references and databases
- Continually improve the estimating process; expand on best practices and templates
- Review bid documents including building, electrical, and civil site plans
- Research and review building code and zoning requirements
- Understand permitting and utility interconnection requirements
- Create scopes of work, assumptions, and limitations
- Analyze historical construction budgets to forecast future cost estimates
- Coordinate with other departments such as Business Development, Procurement, Construction, and O&M to ensure the accuracy of bids and component pricing
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in the commercial electrical or construction industry
- Degree in a related field or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
- Demonstrated ability to create detailed solutions to complex technical problems
- Ability to adapt to evolving processes
- Prior solar, utility, electrical, or construction project management experience, or experience estimating project costs
- Proficient at reading plans, specs, and contracts
