Description:
What We're Doing
The world’s most advanced combat system.
The Aegis Combat System is the Navy’s most modern surface combat system. It was designed as a complete system: the missile launching element, the computer programs, the radar, and the displays are fully integrated to work together. This makes the Aegis system the first fully integrated combat system built to defend against advanced air and surface threats.

- Coordinating directly with the PEO IWS Flight III integration lead for test needs, planning, and remote or on-site support of Flight III ship combat systems.
- Coordinating with all external support and customer groups, including Navy PEs & POs, Navy support contractors, and ship’s crews, to support test planning, conduct, reporting, and problem/issue resolution.
- Coordinating installation and checkout of periodic computer program updates.
- Understanding and providing input to shipboard plans to ensure satisfaction of dependencies and completion of critical path tasks for the execution of Developmental and Operational Test events.
- Maintaining and tracking shipboard Integration and Test progress and reporting to Program Leadership to ensure verification of all shipboard test requirements.
- Relaying system issues identified during shipboard testing to the appropriate POCs for prompt resolution.
- Tracking software defect resolution applicable to planned shipboard test activities.
- Communicating staffing/skillset and resource needs for shipboard test events.
