Band 7
Director of Information Technology
Primary Responsibilities: Direct and manage the Information Technology (IT) department and infrastructure to meet the objectives and goals of Prince Resorts Hawaii (PRH or Company). Responsibilities include strategic planning, project management, team leadership, and collaboration with other departments to optimize and secure the Company’s technology resources.
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop and execute IT strategies and operations, including implementing technology solutions, and aligning initiatives with the Company’s overall objectives, business goals, and long-term vision.
- Lead and mentor IT teams, including hiring, training, and managing staff. Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. Provide leadership support to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Assess and recommend new technology solutions to improve business operations.
Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software. Analyze business needs and requirements to provide recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure and systems.
- Oversee all IT systems and assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other needs.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the IT infrastructure. Monitor system performance and make adjustments as necessary.
Cybersecurity:
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect the Company’s data and systems. Ensure the safeguarding of information systems and data assets.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments. Implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Lead incident response efforts in the event of a security breach.
- Stay current on cybersecurity threats and industry best practices to continuously enhance security measures.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Prepare annual IT operating and CIP budgets.
- Evaluate and approve IT-related purchases and vendor agreements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality and efficiency of IT services.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with other departments to identify their IT needs and make recommendations to support departmental efficiencies. Ensure IT projects align with Company goals and objectives.
- Manage project teams, resources, and timelines.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationship with external vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with IT vendors and service providers.
- Act as the main point of contact for IT-related inquiries from senior management, audit departments, and other stakeholders.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure IT systems and processes comply with industry regulations and standards.
- Implement IT governance frameworks to maintain accountability and transparency in IT operations.
- Stay updated on changes in technology and regulations that affect IT operations.
User Support and Training:
- Oversee the development and delivery of IT training programs for employees.
- Ensure that IT support services meet the needs of users across the organization.
- Address escalated IT issues and ensure timely resolution.
Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attends meetings as required.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office conditions.
- Must be able to work in cramp and dusty spaces when required.
- Must be able to travel off island as required.
Work Hours:
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule to meet goals.
- May require work on the weekend to meet project and operation’s demands.
Equipment Use:
- Must be proficient in the use of a computer with the resort’s word, spreadsheet, and other required software.
- Must be able to use various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers, telephone, and facsimile machines.
Mental and Physical Demands:
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to manage stressful and challenging situations and proactively seek solutions.
- Ability to sit at a desk for the full duration of the shift.
- Ability to walk the hotel and golf course as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to drive and travel outside the State of Hawaii.
- Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and independent.
- Ability to observe and manage employees in the workplace, evaluate their performance and productivity, determine areas of concern, training needs an ability to advance in the resort.
Communication Demands:
- Ability to effectively communicate proficiently in the English language to guests, employees and business partners.
- Ability to conduct presentations to small or large groups of people in a professional manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and project management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with IT governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
