Description:
This role will be a senior role to support the Supply Chain Diversification Team on a Global basis. This team focuses on supporting the company’s supply chain changes to new locations and countries. The goal of this team is to understand, review and provide compliance guidance to businesses on how these changes will impact the downstream supply chains from a cost, lead time, compliance, marking, and labeling perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on US origin and making rules.
- Business Partnering on Supply Chain Compliance issues with various teams within the company.
- Assisting with the creation and deployment of origin determination and communication tools and solutions.
- Working with different IT systems and software packages to develop automated solutions to enhance our compliance and cost-saving propositions (track origin changes over time and implement FTAs).
- Articulate the legal process, marking, and system impact requirements to the Operational teams.
- Assist in reviewing manufacturing processes and supply chains in order to determine the Country of Origin for both export and import countries.
- Partner with regional teams to ensure all trade concerns are included in any analysis/feedback.
- Design and troubleshoot processes and systems used to support origin determination.
Experience / Background:
- Good technical understanding of US custom rules, specific focus on origin (COO determination, marking, FTA’s, etc).
- Need to understand and if necessary, learn multi-regulatory cross-country requirements.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically and see the bigger picture.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in project and process management.
- Ability to influence across multiple functional teams.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, and changing priorities, in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to assimilate and learn complex processes in a changing and multifaceted work environment on a steep learning curve.
- Flexibility to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing environments.
- Must have a willingness to learn technical aspects of Trade compliance (Origin, Classification) and how that impacts the business.
- Attention to detail and proven ability to meet tight deadlines is essential.
- This role requires exceptional levels of interrogation and an ability to understand end-to-end supply chains.
- Systems (EDI, SAP/other ERP) and projects experience an advantage.
