Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Personalization and Recommendations team to help scale our machine learning model development capabilities. As a member of this cross-functional group, you will collaborate with product, other machine learning focused data scientists, and engineers to build custom large-scale models that drive engagement. We are a team of individuals passionate about providing enjoyable user experiences through the application of machine learning for search, personalization, and recommendations.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build machine learning models across all phases of development: from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
- Develop models that leverage large volumes of data, optimize their performance, and ensure the scalability of your solutions
- Identify opportunities and new applications of machine learning to improve the impact of personalization and recommendations efforts across our product offerings
- Research and deliver novel solutions for emerging problem spaces within the personalization machine learning domain
- Collaborate with other data scientists, data engineers, and ML infrastructure engineers in this cross-functional team
- Promote best practices in machine learning system development, testing, and evaluation
What You Will Need
- Experience building machine learning models, with experience and expertise in personalization and recommendation systems, preferably in the streaming video space
- A demonstrable track record of successfully training, deploying, monitoring, and iterating on large-scale machine learning models in a production environment
- Fluency with Python, and experience developing production models using TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc.
- Strong experience with cloud services, preferably AWS, and familiarity with Databricks or similar platforms
- Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly and find creative solutions to business problems
- You write understandable, testable code and have an eye towards maintainability
- You care about the implications of your work on end users
- You are comfortable working in a fast-paced and innovative environment
- You have effective communication skills, and can discuss highly technical details as well as describe your work to non-technical audiences
