SetPoint Medical’s VP of Market Access should have proven expertise in the US health care reimbursement system and principles of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). The VP of Market Access will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive reimbursement and patient access strategies that align with the company's overall business and revenue growth objectives.
Essential leadership responsibilities include managing SetPoint's coding, coverage, and payment strategies to ensure successful launch of the SetPoint System for treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis in the US. Additional responsibilities will include launching patient access and pre-authorization programs, establishing strong relationships with payors and relevant physician societies as well as hiring, training, and developing members of the market access team in order to meet Company goals. This role will work with other leaders across the commercial organization to develop pricing strategies, value messaging and success metrics for driving Company's market access objectives. This position will report to the VP of Marketing.
Location can be remote, with regular travel to Company Headquarters in Valencia, CA. This position will travel up to 50 percent.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive market access and reimbursement strategies to ensure wide-spread coverage and robust payment for the SetPoint System.
- Lead collaboration with public and private payors as well as other stakeholders like physician societies, tech assessment organizations and industry trade associations to advance SetPoint's health policy and patient access initiatives.
- Lead implementation of robust patient access program. Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize approval rates and expand coverage for SetPoint's therapy.
- Manage the HEOR evidence development and publications to communicate SetPoint's cost-effectiveness and budget impact to support initial product launch and long-term pricing and coverage objectives.
- Hire and manage a field reimbursement team with expertise in navigating value analysis committees and hospital/surgery center billing practices.
- Monitor industry trends, policy changes, and payor initiatives that impact SetPoint's reimbursement and commercial goals.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, advocacy groups, and other events to communicate value of SetPoint's offerings.
- Work closely with CFO and VP of Marketing on FP&A and budgeting process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, or industry-relevant field required.
- 10+ years of experience and strong track record of successfully managing reimbursement and patient access programs.
- Proven track record of successfully obtaining coverage for novel medical devices, preferably active implantable devices with Category III CPT Codes.
- Proven experience with outpatient procedure billing practices and programs such as TPT and NTAP to maximize payment for novel technology procedures.
- Deep understanding of the reimbursement landscape for first-in-class therapies and experience navigating complex payor and institutional purchasing environments.
- Strong working knowledge of the Company’s product, competitive products, and the market.

Salary Description:
$225,000 - $300,000, depending on experience.
