Introduction to the team
The Learning Design Senior will play a key role in the project management and execution of high-quality Moss Adams University learning content for our tax, audit, and consulting professionals. This position will work with learning peers and technical experts within the firm to design and develop blended learning curriculum with components ranging from instructor-led training materials to online learning and webinar/podcast series. Responsibilities:
- Create and manage the development timeline for instructor-led learning assets, digital recordings, and e-learnings including analysis of approach, development of materials, and project communication.
- Manage multiple complex instructional design development projects simultaneously for various programs, stakeholders, and internal L&D teams.
- Own and maintain the e-learning playbook, style guide, and instructional design guide while recommending strategic direction on learning technologies/instructional design systems for the organization.
- Publish SCORM or Tin Can-compliant courses, leveraging learning data to assist program leads in validating learner skill transfer, knowledge retention, and performance gains.
- Apply adult learning theory and the neuroscience of learning to design and build learning solutions and experiences using a variety of different media (e.g., in-person and on-demand training, resources, job aids, reference guides).
- Lead team quality assurance (QA) and user-acceptance testing (UAT) processes for asynchronous learning approaches while focusing on the optimal learner experience and determining the appropriate delivery modality (e.g., online, virtual, in-person).
- Champion and advocate accessibility standards across all learning media, acting as the voice of the learner and ensuring their voice and needs are heard and at the forefront of development.
- Collaborate with program leads, subject matter experts (SMEs), and external vendors to develop materials in compliance with Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements.
- In conjunction with program leads, assess business and learner needs and propose solutions for courses that align with the program strategy.
- Partner with managers to conduct annual content maintenance, including updating or removing curricula from our catalog.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience required; experience in a professional services environment preferred.
- Experience designing and developing training materials in all modalities, including ILT, e-learning, and video preferred; experience with e-learning development tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, and Camtasia preferred.
- An eLearning portfolio demonstrating your ability to solve real business and customer problems using strong graphic design and technical writing skills, attention to detail, and a sophisticated and clean aesthetic.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with ability to own and drive project schedules and milestones from start to finish, including managing peers and individuals senior to you.
- Ability to develop relationships, build rapport, and effectively interface with all levels within the firm.
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply, instructional design principles and practices for adult learners.
- Ability to take information from multiple sources, synthesize and create effective learning solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex issues and effectively present to large or small groups.
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 15%.
