POSITION SUMMARY
The Woodland Hills project team is seeking an energy modeling technician for ongoing energy modeling of campus and portfolio buildings to assess energy opportunities.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create energy models of buildings on campus and within KP's portfolio.
- Calibrate energy models to utility bills and measured performance of components.
- Coordinate with facilities operating engineers to gather feedback from building systems.
- Evaluate energy cost measures proposed by project architects, engineers, and other team members.
- Maintain computer energy models in working format as KP asset.
- Membership and participation in IBPSA-USA chapter (Los Angeles) is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years experience with building energy modeling required.
- BEMP certification required or achieved in 12 months after hire.
- BS in Engineering required.
- Proficiency with building energy modeling software: EQuest, Trace 7000, Energy Plus or Design Builder required.
- Demonstrated background with energy model construction and alternative development required.
- Strong understanding of Energy Codes (ASHRAE 90.1, California Title 24) required.
- Strong communication skills required.
- CEM, LEED-AP certifications preferred.
