Incredible Emerald Eye center, Inc is seeking a full-time or part-time Optician!
We are a fast-paced independent Ophthalmology practice with a fast-growing Optical on-site. We are excited to add a new Optician to our team.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious person who can provide great quality of service, manage an optical dispensary, and help achieve high profitability.
General Accountabilities
- Perform vision acuity tests, visual field, and ophthalmic diagnostic testing: autorefraction, OCT, and fundus photo.
- Measure customers for size of eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
- May shape or reshape frames.
- Prepare work orders and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses.
- Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients using pliers.
- Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
- Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.

Experience with VSP, Eye Med, and other vision plans is required.
Job Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree preferred, but vocational school is acceptable.
Experience: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures with 1-2 years of on-the-job training or apprenticeship.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent mathematical knowledge to monitor sales.
- Ability to sell and satisfy customers' needs.
- Knowledge of checking vision plan eligibility and billing VSP, Eye Med, and other vision plans.
SALARY: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour.
