POSITION SUMMARY
The Ophthalmologist shall be an expert in all diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. The Ophthalmologist will provide thorough eye exams and routine care such as vision testing, glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Cataract, and diabetic screening, but primarily work with patients with advanced disease processes, traumatic injuries to the eye, and perform specialized eye surgery.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in anterior segment surgery, including Topical Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery, Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery, and Eyelid procedures.
- Demonstrated experience with Laser Treatments using YAG and Argon Laser such as SLT, YAG Iridotomy, and YAG Capsulotomy.
- Comfortable managing chronic conditions such as Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Dry Eyes, Anterior Segment Disease, Uveitis, and others.
- Organizational and communication skills with the ability to interact closely with Ophthalmologists in the practice.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with conflict resolution abilities.
- Willing to work in coordination with optometrists and assist in their training.
Required Experience
- Current unrestricted California license.
- Graduate from an accredited Medical School.
- Completed an accredited residency program in Ophthalmology.
- At least two (2) years of full-time experience in clinical practice as a full-scope Ophthalmologist. Exceptional candidates out of fellowship will be considered.
- Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements.
