This person will be a key team member on Valuation and Corporate Finance engagements. The candidate will be assisting with a wide variety of services, industries, and situations, including:
- Valuation Analyses
- Financial Modeling
- Other Financial and Economic Engagements
The position is in a dynamic, fast-paced and growing Consulting Department. The ideal candidate will have the desire to contribute immediately to the continued growth of a premier regional Consulting practice. The position will require excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and will require the analyst to work on multiple projects at any one time.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead valuation engagements in a wide variety of industries for the following purposes: financial reporting purposes (ASC 805/ASC 350), 409A/ASC 718 (stock based compensation), gift and estate tax, management planning, litigation support, and/or M&A.
- Lead practice development efforts, including new business development and the recruitment and training of team members.
- Build, maintain, and enhance existing client relationships.
- Oversee day-to-day activities of the practice, including managing and mentoring less experienced team members and peers.
- Assume responsibility for quality control and accuracy of client deliverables.
- Perform and manage the reviews of third party valuations for audit support purposes.
Preferred Experience/Background/Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- CFA, CPA/ABV, or ASA designation.
- Minimum 10 years of recent financial advisory and valuation experience within a business valuation firm or valuation practice of an audit, tax, and advisory firm.
- Significant experience with the valuations of businesses, intangible assets, purchase price allocations, and financial analysis and research.
- Excellent leadership potential.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills in the areas of Finance and Accounting.
- Good understanding of financial markets expected.
- Demonstrated experience in managing day-to-day aspects of client relationships, with a focus on providing superior client service.
- Well organized, high attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects under pressure to meet challenging client requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively use technology.
- Team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required).
- Strict adherence to professional ethics.
Working Conditions
- Core working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a minimum of 3 days per week working in the office.
- Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations.
- Travel for this position may be required, but is not anticipated to be more than 10%.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout the office.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30-50 pounds.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
