This is a Department Promotional exam open only to current eligible employees of The Kern County Assessor-Recorder office who have successfully completed their initial probationary period and received an overall rating of standard or better on the last employee performance report.
EXAMINATION SCHEDULE:
Written Exam: will be conducted on November 21, 2024.
Examinations: Written Exam (100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations; basic accounting principles; processes and procedures in assigned area of responsibility; bookkeeping principles; standard office equipment and procedures; data entry techniques; customer service principles; filing techniques, and other relevant subjects. Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Examination components for promotional testing will be administered during the scheduled dates/times/locations without exception.
Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent and two years of fiscal support, bookkeeping, accounting support or experience related to the area of assignment; or, one year equivalent to a Fiscal Support Technician in the Kern County classification system; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
