Longevity Holdings (doing business through its subsidiaries PBI Research Services, The Berwyn Group, Inc., ITM, Life Insurance Trust Company, Fasano Underwriting, Twentyfirst, Maple Life Financial, Maple Life Analytics, and LexServ) is a fast-growing company that provides senior longevity data, analytics, and services to the pension, benefits, life insurance, structured settlement, and life settlement markets.
The Accountant will support a broad range of operations within a profitable, rapidly growing, acquisitive, tech-focused insurance industry leader.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare billing for multiple business units.
- Support month-end close through client invoicing and general ledger entries & account reconciliations.
- Analyze accounts, locate discrepancies, prepare reconciliations, and appropriate journal entries.
- Monitor client accounts and respond to AR related inquiries.
- Review and maintain deferred revenue accounts.
- Review and reconciliation of monthly sales tax reporting.
- Work with business unit leaders regarding financial results, including accounts receivable collections.
- Accurate and timely data entry into a variety of software systems.
- Validation of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Manipulation of data for import into accounting program and for analysis.
- Reconciliation of GL accounts, bank accounts, and various other reconciliations.
- Document processes and provide support to the Finance team as needed.
- Review, analyze and communicate with vendors on AP related issues.
- Backup support on the review and import of employee expense reports.
- Backup support for processing of vendor invoicing.
- Full cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- An Associate degree or technical certificate plus two years’ experience as an accounting clerk.
- Without degree or certificate, must possess experience of at least four (4) years of progressive experience in the accounting field.
- A thorough understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, and accounting theory.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with other departments, business units, and the Executive Team.
- Exceptional organization & prioritization skills, along with problem-solving and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven communication, negotiations, and presentation skills.
- Ability to optimize processes and identify areas of improvement.
- Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
- High attention to detail, demonstrated by an explanation of how one proofreads and audits their own work.
- A genuine interest in continuous learning opportunities.
- Experience in Accounting for a Multi-entity business (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
- Previous working knowledge of Sage Intacct (preferred).
- Previous use of accounts receivable invoice processing through Invoiced.com or EBizCharge (preferred).
- Previous experience using the Corpay platform (preferred).
