The Stowers Institute for Medical Research has an opening for a Financial Analyst that will provide financial analysis, reporting, and planning for various groups within the Institute. The candidate will be a key member of the finance team reporting to the Senior Finance Partner.

Responsibilities Include:

Preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and operating plans in consultation with budget owners and other finance team members.
Supporting the consolidated financial planning process.
Compiling financial data and analyzing trends in areas such as expense, headcount, revenue, and capital spending.
Completing month-end review of results to ensure accuracy.
Developing relevant reporting including data preparation, report creation, and quality control, delivering insight consistent data and effective visualizations.
Performing certain month-end finance-related functions.
Collaborating on processes and projects while representing the goals of the finance group.
Supporting the Institute’s financial planning and reporting software.
Performing other ad hoc analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of 2-3 years of finance experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
Advanced experience with Excel is required.
Prior experience with creating and utilizing sophisticated databases for analysis is a plus.
GAAP knowledge preferred.
High level of attention to detail is a must.
Ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Solid problem-solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
A team player who demonstrates and fosters a partnering attitude and capability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
