SUMMARY
Solicits transportation services or storage business from homeowners (consumers) and business establishments and estimates packing, crating, moving, and storage costs by performing the following duties. This includes interstate, intrastate, local relocations, and storage transactions, limited to the movement and storage of used household goods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Assists and aids the Company in the prompt and efficient handling of the business.
- Writes orders for the Company’s services within the authorized territory, in compliance with established tariffs and Company rules.
- Prepares necessary forms for requested services, such as survey data and bills of lading, and enters data into the administrative systems.
- Develops lists of prospective customers through publications, networking groups, and real estate agencies.
- Answers customer inquiries for services and assists with the resolution of customer issues and complaints.
- Examines goods to be moved or stored, estimates cubic fee of space required, and prepares a proposal for pricing.
- Completes OA/DA Surveys within prescribed time, accurately entering results.
- Keeps accurate and detailed records of actions taken.
- Meets or exceeds monthly sales goals.

The minimum requirement in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is Beginner Level (Intermediate Level or higher preferred).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
