Under the guidance of the Section Chief of Nuclear Medicine, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a full range of nuclear scans.

Primary Duties:
- Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients. Fill hypodermic syringe with specified amount of isotope and tagging component.
- Observe strict precautions in handling isotopes to safeguard against overexposure to radiation. Follow recommended guidelines of nuclear regulatory commission (NRC). Operate gamma camera and related computers.
- Keep records of test conducted, test results, use, and disposition of isotopes. Must be available for on-call assignments, as needed.
- Attend all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/Blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program.
- NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification.
- Current Maryland State License.
This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $59.26.
