Summary
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance as it relates to the corporate office of Premier Health. This includes full cycle close processes, financial statement preparation, consolidations and eliminations, reporting of investment income from subsidiaries, board-level reporting for all entities, and maintenance of the ERP system. The Corporate Accountant is also responsible for recording and reconciliation of payroll, benefits, insurance, and other corporate-level or allocated costs, service lines, and/or programs. The Corporate Accountant works collaboratively with the other members of the accounting and finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial information and financial statements across the Premier portfolio. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports which may include performing the following duties:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing board-level financial reports and decks for all entities, as assigned. Works with VP of Finance and Reporting and CFO to ensure timely presentation and review of information therein.
- Examine accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
- Prepare complex reports and data summaries for upper management. Ability to complete complex reconciliations independently and accurately, as well as take initiative to seek out required resources needed to be successful.
- Reviews journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations & other reports prepared by junior staff. Detailed review of financial statements & supporting documentation for accuracy; provides support, direction & training to junior staff members.
- Responsibility/oversight for adequate payables/receivables processes and improvements to ensure timely payment of invoices and excellent customer service.
- Performs variance analyses and prepares account reconciliations, including complex bank reconciliations as well as other general ledger account reconciliations. Supports finance management with ongoing projects, annual budget preparation and ad hoc requests from outside business units.
- Responsible for accurate and timely financial statements for the assigned companies and/or subsidiaries.
- Assists & coordinates financial and tax audits and year-end processes.
- Leads more complex accounting projects with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departmental representatives. Ability to take ownership and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Documents processes and procedures for various practices of the department.
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) with all areas of the company, including management, director and partner levels.
- Prepares Board Presentations and Partnership reporting packages, completes complex financial analyses and reports findings to various audiences.
- Manages the work of junior accountants and provides leadership and direction with complex tasks.
- Serves as primary contact for partner finance division and independently facilitates monthly finance meetings/calls to report operational results.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Five years general ledger/financial statement preparation experience is required.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning
Ability to analyze, interpret, and use financial data to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software including Sage Intacct; EMR software including Experity and Epic; and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
CPA preferred but not required.
