We’re looking for a passionate Financial Accountant to join the Financial Reporting team. This role will support the delivery of high quality statutory and group external reporting for the UK operating companies. Your main duties will also include the provision of quality supporting information to facilitate an effective statutory audit process. The role will also support the month end consolidation process, including the posting of journals.
This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You'll Do
- To support the preparation and review of annual statutory accounts, as well as other external reporting matters, as required for the BUs. This includes meeting financial and reporting deadlines.
- To apply required regulations on accounting pronouncements and implement accurate and effective disclosures.
- Support with the audit of the statutory accounts, including liaising with the external auditors.
- Provide external parties with relevant information to assist the completion of tax computations.
- Support preparation of the externally reported semi-annual group financial reporting packages.
- Involved in the month end consolidation process of the UK entities, including posting of journals into the ICON system, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Support an effective control environment, regarding Financial Reporting, to include both SOx and Non-SOx controls.
- Provide guidance, and assist where necessary, the wider team with queries.
- Ensure maintenance of financial records for compliance with policies and procedures.
- Support the development of technical training to ensure compliance to policy standards.
- Maintain close liaison with other Centres of Expertise, developing business knowledge and technical acumen. Support on Financial Control related projects and transactions.
What You'll Have
- A Qualified Accountant, ideally with an external audit or financial accounting or statutory background.
- Experience with Financial Statements, statutory accounts, SOx controls.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proactive self-starter with ability to manage own and team workload, to time and desired levels of quality.
- Ability to challenge the status quo.
- Experience in reporting financial information.
- Ability to work within a team to execute end to end financial reporting processes.
