Position Summary
The position of Staff Accountant (Internal Finance) will be responsible for internal accounting activities to maintain the financial records of the company, as outlined in the essential job duties section. In addition to the essential job duties, the position will also provide specific support to the group/function in which they are assigned.
- Assists with monthly closing procedures to guarantee timely reporting.
- Maintains supporting records for all accounting activities.
- Corresponds with team members regarding the status of tasks assigned and other inquiries.
- Cross trains in other areas within the Finance department.
- Works on a variety of different accounting projects, as requested.
- If supporting the Accounts Payable function.
- Review/approve employee expense reports for accuracy in accordance with T&E policy.
- Maintain/update employee records within expense reimbursement software.
- Monitor Finance Service Desk Board daily and reply to assigned tickets.
- Prepare and submit Finance Purchase Card expense report; monthly.
- Update expense reimbursement process documentation, as needed.
- Assist with monitoring the Accounts Payable mailbox; reply to inquiries/requests.
- If supporting the General Accounting function.
- Assist with reconciling balance sheet accounts on a monthly and/or daily basis.
- Perform accounting and clerical tasks, including preparation and review of financial documents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- BA/BS degree in accounting.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud (ERP Accounting software), preferred.
- Experience with Concur (Expense Reimbursement software), preferred.
- Two (2) plus years of accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficient with computerized accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
