GENERAL SUMMARY: The Business and Accounting Coordinator holds a critical position within the organization, with key responsibilities including processing accounts payables and receivables, purchasing, sales reporting and tracking, management of online payments systems, and daily financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations. They work with an accountant to support the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow projections. This position will work closely with Foundation leadership to operationalize new revenue activities and find efficiencies in financial operations.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and update internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash management, administration, and other activities.
- Work with accountant to create and support the management of budgets, variance reports, and forecasts.
- Provide support to management in financial matters.
- Coordinate vendor payments, billing, and receiving.
- Support the management of bi-weekly payroll and expense reporting processes.
- Oversee and/or support W-9 and 1099 processing, benefits plans, and worker’s compensation process.
- Oversee the donation program including volunteer and staff procedures, reporting and deposits.
- Oversee organizational purchasing process.
- Assist in audit preparations.
- All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- College degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting or a related field.
- Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Solid understanding of applicable finance laws and regulations as well as nonprofit financial best practices.
- Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Ability to deliver quality work on a tight deadline, with strong organization and prioritization skills.
- Proven experience in financial project management.
- Advanced MS Office and overall computer skills, specifically in MS Excel, Quickbooks, and accounting software.
- Ability to communicate and contextualize financial information so people of all levels can understand.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal tax and reporting regulations.
