Job Summary
Assist in the preparation and revision of financial aid awards, and provide financial aid counseling for students and their families.
Responsibilities
- Prepares financial aid awards and revisions for students in up to three schools.
- Counsels students and parents-provides customer service for students and their families, including appointments, emails and phone contact.
- Assist the financial aid guest reception processes, which includes incoming phone calls, voice mails, email accounts and office visits. Schedules appointments, when appropriate.
- Assists with verification of financial aid records.
- Stays current on financial aid regulatory requirements.
- Works on special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form to both individuals and groups.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Detail-oriented, but able to see the whole picture and apply regulations to individual situations.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage time, and work with confidential information.
Experience
Required Experience:
- 1+ years of professional work experience.
Education
Required Education:
- Associate's Degree.
Additional Information
- Must be able to work in a sitting position at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Applicant must be able to bend and stoop to file documents in four-drawer file cabinets; able to lift boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional travel to training and conferences.
- Must not be in default on any Title IV loans.
