Compensation range:
$90,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year

What we are looking for:
We are seeking an individual who would like to do challenging and interesting work in a nimble environment with a sophisticated client base and real opportunities for advancement. Our ideal candidate is a problem solver and an entrepreneur. We are not filling a seat but expanding our staff.
- Minimum of 3+ years of accounting firm tax experience
- CPA mandatory
- Minimum of 30% of your experience working with closely held businesses and their owners with revenues between 5m and 100m
- Proven track record of mentoring and developing staff
- Demonstrated ability to maintain client relationships and to be a trusted business advisor
- Managing complex tax engagements for numerous sophisticated, closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals
- Excellent project management skills
- Working knowledge of tax software and Microsoft Office programs
- Experience as a business consultant and not just a tax preparer
- Industry experience is a plus in real estate, construction, manufacturing, software, medical, professional services, and closely held businesses.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Review and analyze tax returns prepared by staff or external advisors.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and enhance financial performance.
- Conduct research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to provide strategic advice and ensure compliance.
- Advise on the tax implications of business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Assign and review work, ensuring quality and accuracy in tax-related deliverables.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Prepare and review tax provision calculations for financial statements.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and procedures related to tax processes.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to update internal policies and procedures accordingly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tax-related inquiries from clients, internal departments, and regulatory bodies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Identify and assess tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Handle tax audits and resolve any disputes with tax authorities.
- Analyze current tax processes and recommend improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in tax management.
