The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Director, Financial Reporting for the UNLV Athletics Department.
ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director for Financial Reporting will assist with satisfying the complex financial reporting requirements of the Athletics Department and Thomas & Mack Center. The Athletic Department is required to compile and complete numerous daily, monthly, and yearly financial reports that will satisfy internal and external constituents including, but not limited to: Federal EADA Report, NCAA/AUP Report, UBIT report, gift/endowment reports, and other reports as required by the Athletic Department, Thomas & Mack Center, and the university. This position will also assist with other general business office functions as well as oversee and manage the count room and assist with the cash deposit process.
This position should have a basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment. In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletic Compliance, prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of two (2) years of comparable, professional experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on finance, accounting or business is strongly preferred. Previous experience in athletic or event management is preferred.
