As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting the Technology and Products Group at Micron Technology, Inc., you are a business partner to senior engineering leadership, driving disciplined financial execution and strategic decision support. Your analytical skills will enable you to provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations that optimize return on investments and shareholder value.
You will partner with the DRAM Technology Development (TD) and Heterogeneous Integrated Group (HIG). The DRAM TD team is responsible for advancing the technology process nodes that ensure industry technology leadership and cost competitiveness. The HIG product engineering team develops High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) solutions fueling generative AI and next-generation advanced packaging solutions. By establishing a strategic partnership with leadership of these functions, you will develop an in-depth understanding of their business enabling strategic analysis, decision support, and operating & capital expense budgeting. You will be responsible for maintaining an engaging, proactive, objective, and customer-focused relationship with your business partners and internal customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the financial planning and forecasting processes. Provide detailed analysis and financial modeling to support budget creation, resource allocation, and long-term strategic planning.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze financial performance of R&D projects and initiatives. Proactively assess risks & opportunities that could lead to deviation from plan. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior management with actionable insights.
- Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies. Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to optimize budget utilization and financial performance.
- Investment Analysis: Evaluate the financial viability of new R&D projects and initiatives. Conduct thorough investment analyses, including return on investment (ROI) calculations and risk assessments, to support decision-making processes.
- Reporting: Effectively prepare and present to business partners, offering actionable insights and observations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, business units finance, and corporate finance, to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
- Strategic Support: Provide strategic financial guidance to leadership, including scenario planning, business case development, and competitive analysis.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the semiconductor or technology industry. Experience supporting R&D organizations is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience with Power BI are required.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to senior management.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
