About The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Assistant Project Controller to join our Denver team, supporting the Cherry Creek West development as well as projects with our Deer Valley, UT team. This role is an integral part of the project’s financial oversight, working closely with both our development and corporate accounting teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency across all of the project’s financial processes. You’ll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment, contributing to the success of major real estate projects while gaining hands-on experience in the full scope of project accounting.
This role offers the chance to engage in both transactional work and strategic oversight, providing a path toward a future Project Controller role. Responsibilities
- Full cycle accounting
- Supports the Project Controller with daily accounting operations and financial reporting
- Oversees the accuracy of financial data, assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
- Manages accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger maintenance
- Prepares journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Participates in the review of settlement statements at closing
- Manages recording of cost of sales
- Manages the project’s cash; initiates banking transactions (Treasury)
- Sets up new bank accounts as needed (Treasury)
- May assist in budgeting, forecasting, and internal audits
- Prepares project-specific financial reports for management and stakeholders
- If audit required, will be an integral member of the team
- Helps ensure compliance with contractual obligations and budgetary guidelines, often liaising with construction teams or external vendors
Location: This role is based at our headquarters in the vibrant Union Station neighborhood of Denver, CO.
Travel Requirements: None required, however there will be the opportunity to visit project developments to meet and collaborate with the project teams in Utah, and the accounting team in Avon, CO.
Benefits + Compensation
- Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 (dependent on experience) + discretionary annual bonus up to 10%, based on performance
