Overview
The Senior Accountant role gains extensive exposure to diverse aspects of AssuredPartners’ business. The role contributes to the success of the company by focusing on examining and improving processes, reporting and variance analysis of various ledger accounts, mentorship of team members, and acts as a liaison between other departments for accounting related inquiries. The role operates as the “go to” person for management when there are questions regarding accounting transactions and balances. This person will be well versed in accounting and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant should be detail oriented and possess analytical, problem solving, and financial reporting skills.

What You'll Do
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintains accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Supports and participates in the monthly close process for the business.
- Preparation and peer review of monthly and quarterly reconciliations along with providing variance commentary for fluctuations between periods.
- Preparation of support for our quarterly financial statement footnotes.
- Preparation, review, and validation of monthly accruals.
- Assists in budgeting and forecasting process.
- Assists with financial inquiries by analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
- Provide support to the Corporate Accounting and Finance team in functions related, but not limited to: accounts payable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, prepaids, debt, lease accounting, intercompany allocations, self-funded medical reserves, legal accruals, cash application and disbursements, bank reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting.
- Trains, mentors, and manages other accountants, as needed.
- Identifies opportunities to improve accounting efficiencies and drive assigned projects to completion.
- Demonstrates strong analytical, data analysis, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintains a well-organized financial data and document warehouse.
- Works cross functionally with corporate teams.
- Works closely with the Company’s internal and external auditors.
- Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 2+ years of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or similar experience.
- CPA a plus.
