Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of the Center for Weight Loss, works under the direct supervision of the Medical Director for the Center for Weight Loss. The Lead Dietitian is responsible for the daily operations of the dietitians at the Center for Weight Loss. This will include supervising the dietitians and their workflow. Works collaboratively with other hospital departments that provide services for the Weight Loss Center. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate issues as well as to monitor and resolve outstanding issues.
In addition to leadership and program development skills, the Lead Dietitian provides nutrition guidance and counseling to bariatric patients through development, implementation, and monitoring of dietary recommendations pertaining to weight loss surgery. Provision of clinical nutrition care requires knowledge of the principles of weight loss surgery and the ability to analyze data, assess nutrition status and formulate nutrition care plans.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
- Master’s degree in nutrition required.
Experience
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience.
- Minimum 3 years of management or leadership experience preferred.
Licensure and/or Certification
- Must have current license as a dietitian in Massachusetts.
- RD credential required.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently while paying close attention to detail.
- Computer skills required.
- Must work effectively, professionally and confidently with a variety of patients and health care providers.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to maintain PHI and confidential information.
