General Responsibilities:
This position will be primarily based in Woburn, Massachusetts, and will provide support for projects throughout New England, as needed.
Perform asbestos surveys, asbestos management planning, operations and maintenance plans development, abatement oversight and air monitoring services, employee exposure assessments, noise assessment and hearing conservation, ventilation and lighting surveys, mold assessments and remediation monitoring, indoor environmental quality investigations, lead paint surveys, and hazardous materials surveys. In addition, you will support other environmental services, as needed.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performance of building inspections for asbestos-containing building materials in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Perform air monitoring and visual inspections during asbestos and lead abatement projects.
- Sampling of painted coatings in commercial and industrial settings.
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain field monitoring equipment, such as sampling devices, sampling media, and sample pumps and meters.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. Candidate will be required to adhere to strict company health and safety standards.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Ability to climb ladders, lift/carry equipment (generally up to 50 lbs.) and stand for long periods of time.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related science field.
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience.
- Asbestos Inspector Certifications in MA, NH, ME and/or VT.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
